This presentation was made by the participants of the International Programme in Applied Psychology 2008-2009 to present themselves on the International Study Conference in Germany.
Reactions from students
“The visits that we paid to different psychological settings were very interesting, because it allowed me to understand how psychology is organized in Belgium. Also it was very stimulating to learn how this science works in so many different countries.
It opened my mind for an eventual setting to work in psychology in my further career.”
Joana (Portugal)
“The support of the coordinators was very useful. They helped us to find accommodation, arranged all formalities connected with the residence permit and helped those people who had some problems with date of exams. We knew that in case of any problem we could always call them. There was no problem to have contact with them, also before our arrival to Antwerp.”
Ewelina (Poland)
“The courses gave me another perspective in psychology. For instance I would like to learn more about Solution Focused Therapy because I’d like to use it in my future career.
I really enjoyed this semester. It was a big opportunity for me, and I enjoyed every moment!”
Aniko (Hungary)
“The International Programme gives me a broader view on the world of science and this will help in my future career.”
Tihomira (Bulgary)
“Especially what I learned from the contact with the other international students will be very useful not only for my career, but also for me as a person. But I also think that all courses provided a more complete vision on (applied) psychology. I got a more precise vision for myself what I want to do for a profession.
I really had a nice time in Antwerp and the coordinators were always very helpful. This made it all very easy to adapt to everything. Especially the contact with the other international students was a very useful experience. And I just had a great time here!”
Inge (The Netherlands)
“The practical part of lessons and also the visits helped me to understand the different fields of psychology better and helped me to give a direction to my further career.”
Hilal (Turkey)
“I can only speak about both coordinators in superlatives. Although I never found myself personally in any troubles, I had a feeling that I can always ask them for help or advice.
In Antwerp, the coordinators were ready to answer all my questions. Also, they seemed to care a lot about our exams and did everything to make the best timetable possible (e.g. days in between to study). As I could not attend to one of the exams because of unexpected family matters, they were ready to prepare a new exam for me.”
Manca (Slovenia)
“I am really impressed of the courses of Solution focused therapy and Forensic psychology and maybe I will choose one of these disciplines for my Master degree.”
Tsvetelina (Bulgary)
