Permission to Work: Application Procedure for Incoming Students
- Students start off by registering with the Foreign Students Registration Office. An agreement has been made between schools and universities in the Province of Antwerp by which International Offices gather the necessary documents, compile individual dossiers and pass them on to the Aliens Registration Office. As soon as a police constable has come round to make sure everything is in order, an appointment can be made – via the International Office - to pick up a registration documents.
- On these registration documents, the students will find his Rijksregisternummer / Identification of the National Register. That is is all the student needs to give to a possible employer when applying for a job. A student from a EU country has exactly the same rights as a Belgian students. Exception: students from Romania and Bulgaria. For these countries transitional provisions apply.
