Formalities
Teaching Staff from outside the EU
Teaching Staff from outside the EU need a full visa (D visa).
Foreigners entering the country and wishing to work in Belgium, must be in possession of a D visa (= authorized temporary residence), which enables them to take up residence here.
Required documents:
- passport + 2 copies
- employment card + 2 copies (if required)
- 6 photos
Upon enrolment they will receive a bivr ( bewijs van inschrijving in het vreemdelingenregister/ proof of enrolment in the Aliens Register), valid for the duration of the job (max. 1 year).
Foreigners coming to Belgium for a short spell (less than three months) may be presented with a declaration of entry.

- passport + 2 copies
- 4 photos
- countries with visa requirements: C visa
- no visa required: proof of entry (e.g. stamp in passport)
