Department of Applied Psychology | Research

 

 

Research in the Department of Applied Psychology is centred on educational psychology, industrial psychology and the psychometric assessment of screening tools.

 

Current projects include ‘Student participation and student representation in higher education’ and the adaptation of the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence Test -Third Edition (WPPSI-III) for use among Dutch and Flemish populations .

 

The Department’s Centre for Psychodiagnostics adapts diagnostic tools for the Flemish population. It also provides practical and educational services to the community.

 

The Department of Applied Psychology has set up a Multi-Disciplinary Diagnostic Centre for Learning Disabilities, in cooperation with the Department of Speech Language Therapy and Audiology. Besides the scientific research in learning disorders, the Centre focuses on diagnosing dyslexia and dyscalculia in students in higher education.
